MovieJawn is presently seeking interested film writers to join our staff. Please review the below information carefully before submitting your application. 

MovieJawn is a quarterly print movie magazine and website. From silent pictures to talkies, we seek to offer cinematic writing that spans all eras and genres of film. Much like a friend, MovieJawn hopes to guide the reader to their next favorite watch while sharing a perspective on cinema that is different from one's own view. Most importantly we seek to share diverse thoughts and feelings from a variety of voices. 

Presently, MovieJawn staff is unpaid. At this time payment that is offered to our writers is collected through reader support and donation. Writers that contribute to our quarterly print publication, receive a contributor's copy. We continue to work on ways to offer compensation and are hopeful to offer more opportunities for payment in the future. 

Who we are seeking… 

MovieJawn wants to hear from writers whose personality shines through in their work. No matter your level of writing experience, ALL OUR WELCOME TO APPLY. Applicants are asked to provide (3) links to previous film writing. If you do not have writing experience you are required to complete a film review for a movie that has come out within the past year and provide a link to this completed assignment (google drive link is adequate).

Our ideal staff writer will pitch feature articles and/or write thoughtful reviews, and pitch articles for our quarterly print zine. However, special considerations will be made for historically marginalized writers.
