Just Jeff: The Town Where No One Got Off
JUST JEFF IS BACK!

It’s not a trick. Just Jeff is back. And let’s face it, anything involving Jeff Goldblum is a real treat. So, warm up the cider and don’t forget to look behind you as we delve into The Town Where No One Got Off.
Okay, I get it. My friends and I chuckled too upon first glance of this title in one of those bargain DVD bins, but I assure you… this isn’t an adult film. The Town Where No One Got Off is actually a made for TV style short featured in the anthology series, The Ray Bradbury Theater. Goldblum and Bradbury? Sign me up.
The Town Where No One Got Off focuses on Cogswell (Goldblum), a sharp dressed big city author, looking for inspiration for his next short. He is intrigued by the simplicity of small town life. He discloses this to a fellow passenger who basically pressures him to get off at the next stop. Cogswell agrees and finds himself in a practically abandoned town called Erewhon, aka “the town where no one gets off”. It is there that he meets a mysterious man with similar sinister intentions…
Most of this short involves a well-dressed Goldblum walking around and staring into store fronts in late fall which is basically my dream. I’ll watch Goldblum walking around an abandoned graveyard any day, but this short was basically a snooze. Maybe the intent was to reflect the slow pace of a small town? I don’t know. What I do know is that one does not take the advice of some stranger who ridicules you about your career choices. I’m looking at you, lady I sat next to on a plane ride. Also, not all small town residents are jerks. I live in a quiet, quaint town and, I’m telling you, if Jeff Goldblum ever stumbled upon my neighborhood, he would be welcomed with open arms, probably mostly by me.
If you want to see Jeff Goldblum walk around in a nice blazer and Dockers and drink whiskey, check out The Town Where No One Got Off.
