Friday night begins with a rustling in the trees…a fluttering of wings…a subtle feeling of being watched by tiny eyes…and then come THE BIRDS (1963)! Nothing you have ever witnessed before has prepared you for such sheer, stabbing shock, as Rod Taylor, Tippi Hedren, Suzanne Pleshette, Jessica Tandy and Veronica Cartwright flee from winged terror and avian assault!
We follow the watching of barbaric birds with a film about observing human horrors, when a laid-up Jimmy Stewart passes the time by spying on his neighbors through his REAR WINDOW (1954), and peeps a perp performing a deadly deed! Can Stewart survive as the sole witness to this crime, with the help of Grace Kelly and Thelma Ritter? Featuring Raymond Burr, Wendell Corey, and Ross Bagdasarian, creator of The Chipmunks!
Saturday begins with one of the most chilling horror films of all time, with Janet Leigh, Anthony Perkins, John Gavin, Vera Miles, Martin Balsam up against a PSYCHO (1960)! Join Norman Bates for some nice sandwiches at his roadside motel, a quite place to spend the night and take a shower. We end the night with one of Hitchcock’s most celebrated films, a tale of obsession between a troubled former cop (Jimmy Stewart), and a woman he’s hired to follow (Kim Novak). Beautifully shot, scored, and performed, it’s a slow-burn romantic thriller you won’t soon forget, with Barbara Bel Geddes, Tom Helmore and Elley Corby in VERTIGO.
